Looking For Your 15 Minutes Of Fame?

Astrology on the Web: Feng Shui Tips on Love, Fame and Education: "Feng Shui Tips On Fame

It is said that everybody has his or her 15 minutes of fame. For some, fame stares them in the face every minute of the day. Celebrities, politicians, socialites, and rich tycoons - they are always in the limelight. Reputation and fame is of great importance to them, as they represent the image of their company or their industry. Sometimes severe damage can be caused to reputations by scandals, lawsuits, convictions and gossip. Here is how you can avoid having your reputation tarnished, by using Feng Shui.

* Find out your Kua number and your best directions. Sleep with your head pointed at your sheng chi direction.
* If your career depends a lot on good reputation and fame, renovate your house so that the main door faces your sheng chi direction. If the main door of your house opens to large and imposing building on the opposite street or the edge of a large building, by all means move out, or at least hang a Pa Kua mirror above your front door (outside only) to soften the effect of the shar qi.
* According to the 8 Life Aspirations, the South section governs Fame and Recognition. The element of South is fire and the colour is red. If possible, paint this section of your house a lovely shade of bright red, or hang some red drapes there.
Wood produces Fire, so you can energize the fire element with the wood element. Place some wooden furniture in the South section of your home or office. You can also keep a candle burning there and hang a painting with red colour. Do not place any water feature in this section (such as an aquarium) as it will drown the natural fire element."

Love Life Need Some Feng Shui?

Astrology on the Web: Feng Shui Tips on Love, Fame and Education: "Feng Shui Tips On Love

Love is an emotion all of us have experienced at one time or another. Countless songs, movies, poetry and artworks are dedicated to this powerful emotion. Many heroes and kingdoms rose and fell in the name of love. Here are some Feng Shui guides to activate your romance luck and to enhance your relationship.

* If you are single or looking to improve your relationship, sleep with your head pointed in your Nien-Yin (Relationships) direction according to your Kua number.
* Avoid sleeping facing the door as the shar qi (killing breath) will be very strong and will cause problems in your relationship.
* Strengthen the Southwest section of your home. According to the Feng Shui principle of Eight Life Aspirations, the Southwest section governs romance and marital happiness. The element of the Southwest is Earth. Activate that section with a pleasant decoration of small rocks or anything made from terracotta or clay. Alternatively, hang a picture of a mountain minus any water feature.
* Watch out for any poison arrows brought by the edges of pillars of furniture in your bedroom. These poison arrows bring harmful shar qi and will affect you, therefore affecting your relationship as well. Cover the offending edges with a soft cloth or a potted plant.
If you are single and looking for love, hang a painting of peonies, the Chinese flower of love in your house or bedroom. Also, balance the Yin and Yang in your house. If you are male, display items or photos that represent the presence of females/Yin. If you are female, some images or displays that show maleness and masculinity will be beneficial."

Bloomberg.com: Major Australian Hotel Embraces Feng Shui

Bloomberg.com: Australia & New Zealand: "Sydney Hilton Has A$200 Mln Renovation, No Longer `Ugly as Sin'

July 14 (Bloomberg) -- At 11 a.m. tomorrow morning, Mamdoh Kiriakos will welcome the Sydney Hilton's first guests in 2 1/2- years, following an A$200 million ($150 million) refurbishment of a hotel once labeled an ``embarrassment to the city.''

Gone are the 1970s pebble facade, dark foyer and twin car- ramps that former Lord Mayor Frank Sartor lambasted for being ``ugly as sin'' and an ``embarrassment'' to Sydney. In its place is a 43-story luxury hotel with a light-filled lobby, 577 feng shui-inspired rooms, the city's biggest gym and Australia's largest hotel conference center.

``It's like we were living in a cottage and are now coming back finding ourselves in a mansion,'' said 56-year-old Kiriakos, who has been the Hilton's doorman since 1978, welcoming guests from South African President Nelson Mandela to rock star Tina Turner and entertainer Liberace."

Very cool stuff! I live in Sydney, my partner and I will have to check this out!

Is Feng Shui Superstitious

Is Feng Shui Superstitious: "The Oxford dictionary defines superstition as “any blindly accepted belief or notion”. So people who think Feng Shui is superstitious would think that Feng Shui is a belief or a notion entertained regardless of any reason or logic.

Is this the case? Is it true that Feng Shui is just a belief? Is its analysis without reason or a theoretical framework?

Feng Shui is not superstitious…

Feng Shui is not just a belief. We do not need to have faith for Feng Shui to work. If we live in an environment with bad Feng Shui, sooner or later it will affect us somehow. We may not be aware that it is Feng Shui at work: we may just feel uncomfortable, or unsettled for some reason but can’t put words to it. Feng Shui has a paradigm and a terminology to describe this unbalanced state of being. The theoretical framework for Feng Shui is based on Chinese metaphysics whose origin comes from the observations of nature and the interaction of the yin and yang forces in our environment. There is a great deal of know-how that has been collected through the 2,000 – 3,000 years of evolution of Feng Shui practice.

On the other hand…

To say that Feng Shui is completely devoid of superstition is not true either. There are many examples of gross misinterpretations of the metaphysics, the classic example being an old Feng Shui method called “Wu-Yin-Xing-Li” – interpreting the auspiciousness of a dwelling according to the five sounds of an owner’s surname. This method was severely criticized by Han Dynasty scholar Wang-Chong (born 27 AD) and subsequently dropped out of Feng Shui practice.

Because Feng Shui involves a multi-disciplinary approach to its practice, we should not look at it only from a Western scientific point of view. Feng Shui is also an art. A large portion of Feng Shui analysis requires a personal and subjective interpretation of the given data. One needs to balance out the subjectivity with the objectivity of a given situation. To the Chinese, the brain is tied to the heart (Xin-Yi), so science and art can exist and should exist as one discipline, instead of two separate entities.

Ultimately, Feng Shui looks at the interaction of the environment with its user. Since the user is a human being and by nature we are a part rational and part irrational being, so Feng Shui has to be part scientific (rational) and part intuitive (irrational/superstitious) as well.

We have an irrational fear of superstition…

If we can accept the notion that everything in nature is composed of the yin and yang complimentary opposites, why can we not accept the fact that behind the rational thoughts are the intuitions and the irrational feelings that seem superstitious? Why can’t science and faith exist side by side? Western science does not have all the answers. Chinese science may be able to provide some of the missing answers. The sceptics are good at attacking irrationality and superstition but they don’t realise that in their zest for Western science and rationality, they are being irrational as well. They give more power to the devil than it deserves.

Feng Shui is unique…

In that it tries to work with the opposing forces of nature. It is extremely complex to practice even though the principles and the objectives are quite straightforward. It looks for balance and harmony, both inside our head as well as out there in the environment. To dismiss it as mere superstition is to throw away a valuable resource from the Chinese culture.

“The Westerner is a man of extremes, who fails to see the basic unity of positive and negative. He strives for the positive and denies the negative. He identifies himself with one extreme, which he makes the goal and god of his life. But the opposite still remains and reacts on him. Unable to reach his god, he finds his self divided, and being self-divided he creates one-sided things that split nature and in turn disrupt man and his order. He fights the devil within his heart and in fits of despair turns negative and creates destruction. He turns to science, technology and formulas to create machines that will bring happiness to man, only to discover that they also bring unhappiness. The happiness and suffering which he brought about he calls progress and thinks this is his mission in life”

Do You Make These Feng Shui Mistakes?

Use red color to activate an area:
The truth is that a large red-colored object emanates the fire element and is not necessarily the best way to activate an area. Fire happens to strengthen earth and there are earth-type energies responsible for sickness, arguments, and accidents. Please do not think that red is a "lucky" color because it can cause harm when placed in the wrong location.

Assume that your toilet is bad feng shui::
Remember that modern plumbing only brought the toilet into the house relatively recently and that there are no 6,000 year old feng shui case studies regarding the effects of a toilet in any part of the house. Much of what has been written about bad feng shui and toilets is exaggerative or not accurate at all.

Assume that a water fountain must be good feng shui:
Clean, gently flowing water can improve an environment in numerous ways, but an incorrectly-placed water fountain can also contribute to gossip, arguments, sexual scandal, legal problems and criminal activity.

Believe that your remedies will work better if you install them with love:
While good intentions, prayer and meditation can help improve one’s perspective and attitude, a real feng shui remedy does not require any personal energy in order for it to work, just as real medicine works whether you believe in it or not. Feng Shui remedies are not supposed to be placebos even though many people assume that to be the case.

Hang bamboo flutes on beams to correct their negative influence:
There was no such thing as an ancient Chinese bamboo flute like the ones you see today. Flutes like that originated in Italy. The so-called Chinese bamboo flute is a modern-day knick-knack. The only thing that really corrects the downward energy of an exposed beam is a false ceiling.

Think that an oval-shaped mirror in your bedroom will attract romance:
Mirrors are an irritant to the bedroom area, contributing to poor sleep as they bounce energy currents back and forth. Perhaps only indirectly, the mirror will force you to look at yourself more often-check your physical appearance and do something about it if it’s preventing you from meeting someone!

Wind Chimes Create Magic In The Garden

Article Search Engine: GoArticles.com: "Wind Chimes Go Great With Gardening by Lee Dobbins

What could be more relaxing than gardening on a nice summer morning? Listening to your wind chime while you garden! Wind chimes are not only fun to look at but they add much more to your garden then just visual appeal.

Wind chimes have tones and vibrations that soothe and calm the mind helping to release all your stress. When you dig in the garden and connect with the earth, listening to your chimes tinkle in the breeze can help you also connect with your inner spirit. Chimes have been used for much more than just decoration for centuries. In fact, wind chimes are used in many Feng Shui cures. You can hang your chimes inside as well as outside, metal chimes are best for North, Northwest and West while wood chimes are best for South, Southeast and East. The number of rods can be associated with the cure you want. Use 4, 6, 7, 8 or 18 rods for luck and 5 rods to reject bad energy. Use bamboo for outside.

Of course, you should pick chimes that decorate your porch or garden area to your liking. There’s plenty of styles and materials to choose from. I favor the chimes with a stained glass decoration on top that comes in all kinds of whimsical styles. If you are more traditional, you might go for a simple bamboo chime with an Asian flair. You can even get chimes that are hand tuned if you are really into the sound quality of your wind chime.

Hanging your wind chimes is easy. To hang from the top of your porch, you can use a simple C shaped hook that screws into the ceiling. Any type hook can be used as long as it is strong enough to support your wind chime. Be sure you hang it in an area where it’s freedom of movement is not obstructed by anything. You can also buy fancy hangers that screw in or that stick up from the ground. When hanging your chime, try to pick a place that will not get a strong wind – this way you can be sure your chime does not blow off and break.

So, the next time that you get out into the garden, make sure that you hang out some wind chimes so that you can add a new level to your gardening experience!
